What began as a vision from original owner Tripp has grown into a beloved local institution—and thanks to the dedication of those who’ve stepped up to carry on the tradition, HIS Barbershop continues to thrive more than 50 years later.
From Tripp to Paul: Carrying the Torch
Tripp, who opened HIS Barbershop with a commitment to classic barbering and exceptional service, was preparing for retirement when Paul Schroeder took over the reins. Paul maintained the shop’s commitment to excellence while keeping the doors open to familiar faces and new customers alike. As the years passed and Paul considered his own retirement, he didn’t have to look far for the next chapter in HIS Barbershop’s story.
Nicole Lanoue: The Natural Successor
Enter Nicole Lanoue—a familiar face and a steady presence in the shop for the past 17 years. Her tenure at HIS Barbershop has made her a trusted stylist and friend to many in the Redwood Falls community. When Paul looked toward retirement, it made perfect sense to pass the clippers (and the business) into Nicole’s capable hands. Her deep knowledge of the shop’s legacy and dedication to its clientele made her the ideal person to carry the business forward.
A Strong Team for Continued Excellence
Nicole now leads HIS Barbershop with a talented and trusted team by her side. She rents out the other two chairs in the shop to local barbers Darren Sams and Robert Halvorson Jr., better known as “B.” Both barbers are from the area and bring valuable experience and local connections to the business. Darren has been cutting hair for 15 years, while B brings 2 years of experience to the chair. Together, this skilled trio ensures that HIS Barbershop continues to meet the needs of clients old and new with professionalism and care.
Serving Redwood County—One Haircut at a Time
HIS Barbershop is the only barber shop in Redwood County and continues to proudly serve men, women, and children, with a special focus on traditional men’s haircuts and barbering services. The shop has called 241 E 2nd Street in downtown Redwood Falls home for the past 30 years, providing a convenient and familiar location for residents of Redwood and surrounding communities.
