Let us introduce ourselves, we are Velvet and Ricky Dostal, your new promoters of Redwood Speedway in Redwood Falls, MN. For those of you that aren’t familiar with us, we both come from several years in the race world.
I (Velvet) have worked at Princeton Speedway and North Central Speedway for the past 10+ years. I am no stranger to the day to day operations of a race track. At Princeton and North Central, I have done everything from sell tickets, take care of concessions, driver check in, lineups, scoring and more. I am a full time retail Bakery Manager and decorate cakes in my “spare” time..
Ricky has been in motorsports in some capacity for nearly all his adult life, from truck pulling to engine building to Pit crew to car owner. He has been working at both Princeton Speedway and North Central Speedway for the past 3+ years as a Tech Official, track prep and much more! In addition, for the past 3 years, Ricky has been a tech inspector at the IMCA Supernationals and the Harris Clash.
The past 2 years, we co-promoted both Princeton Speedway and North Central Speedway where we have had the pleasure to learn so much about the dirt track racing industry from long time track owner, Cliff Sasker. Cliff will continue to be our mentor.
When we seen Redwood was looking for someone to lease it, we began talking with the fair board. We told them we had to wait for one door to close before we could fully open this one. That time has come as Princeton Speedway was awarded to a different group for the next season. This freed up enough time for us to commit to Redwood Speedway!
We have officially signed the lease and are in full swing getting sanctioning, insurance and everything else in place! For the time being, follow along with our updates here on our Facebook page. We should have a MyRacePass up by the end of February with a website to follow.
Our commitment to you is to transparency, dignity & respect, the best possible race surface, efficient race programs and SUNDAY NIGHT FUN!!! We will be starting early enough on Sunday nights to get you all home as early as possible!

Have you noticed #whatsgoingup near the Redwood Falls Aquatic Center? The family of Paul and Marvel Pryor have donated a pavilion to the city! It will be called Pryor Pavilion and located in Memorial Park.
The pavilion is being built south of the Aquatic Center (between the pool and baseball field). Because of the ample parking and ease of access, the city selected this site. The Parks and Recreation Department will be able to add this pavilion to the list of shelters to rent out during the summer months as well.
