Redwood Falls has a new healthcare option taking shape, and it brings a different approach to primary care. Rural Authentic Wellness (RAW), owned by Krystle Dillon, APRN, CNP, FNP-C, is planning to open a Redwood Falls clinic location with a focus on relationship-based care, prevention, access, and service.
RAW currently has a practice in Olivia, Minnesota. The Redwood Falls location is planned as the next step in the growth of a healthcare model that is already gaining attention from individuals, families, and businesses looking for a more direct and personal primary care experience.
The clinic is currently planned to open September 1.
What Is Direct Primary Care?
Rural Authentic Wellness operates as a Direct Primary Care clinic. Direct Primary Care, often called DPC, is a membership-based model for primary healthcare. Instead of using the traditional insurance-based structure for routine primary care, patients pay a flat, predictable membership fee for direct access to their healthcare team.
The goal is simple: make primary care easier to understand, easier to access, and more focused on the patient-provider relationship.
For many people, healthcare can feel confusing. Costs are not always clear. Appointments can feel rushed. Follow-up questions can be difficult to ask. DPC is designed to create a more personal experience, with more time for care, more direct communication, and a stronger focus on long-term wellness.

What the Redwood Falls Clinic Will Include
The planned Redwood Falls clinic is expected to include five exam rooms, a procedure room, and additional space with room to grow.
Dillon shared that the clinic will offer primary care services with a preventive focus. That means helping patients stay ahead of health concerns when possible, rather than only responding once something becomes more serious.
The clinic also plans to offer direct lab services and some procedures. For patients, that can mean a clearer understanding of costs and a more convenient way to access routine services.
As Dillon explained, the model is not built around rushing through a high number of appointments each day. The goal is to keep care personal and manageable. If patient demand grows, the plan is to grow the team rather than lose the relationship-based approach that makes the model different.
A Focus on Prevention and Access

Dillon shared that first visits often include a broad look at a patient’s health, including lab work and discussion about overall wellness. That preventive focus is one of the reasons the DPC model can be appealing to patients who want more time, more conversation, and more clarity around their care.
Access is another important part of the model. In rural communities, waiting months for specialty input or traveling long distances for care can be frustrating. RAW is working to create a model that helps patients get answers and direction more efficiently when possible.

That does not mean DPC replaces every type of healthcare coverage. Patients and employers still need to think carefully about insurance for major medical needs, emergencies, and specialty care. But for routine primary care, ongoing wellness, labs, and common concerns, the model can create a more direct path to care.

Growing from Olivia to Redwood Falls
Rural Authentic Wellness opened in Olivia two years ago and has continued to grow through word of mouth, patient relationships, and a care model that feels different from what many people are used to.
Dillon described the growth as more than she expected, and she credits her team as a major part of that progress. As RAW expands into Redwood Falls, that same team-centered and patient-centered approach remains at the heart of the work.
The Redwood Falls clinic is expected to start with a provider and nurse, with room to grow over time. Dillon described the approach as organic growth, similar to how the Olivia location developed.
