Redwood Falls Municipal Airport Runway Project Supports Safety, Access, and Future Growth

The City of Redwood Falls is continuing to invest in important infrastructure at the Redwood Falls Municipal Airport. The Redwood Falls Municipal Airport runway project includes rehabilitation of Runway 12/30, replacement of the runway lighting system, taxiway improvements, and updates to navigational aids.

This project is another important step in maintaining the airport as a safe, reliable, and useful community asset.

The Redwood Falls Municipal Airport supports more than aviation alone. It helps connect the community to business, agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, emergency services, private aviation, and regional travel. For a community like Redwood Falls, strong airport infrastructure helps support both daily operations and future opportunities.

Planning for Long-Term Use

Airport Runway Update - Investing in Safety and Access

Runway project construction is currently underway. Construction administration work is expected to continue through October 2026, with project closeout anticipated in July 2027.

Projects like this are a major part of responsible infrastructure planning. Runways, lighting systems, taxiways, and navigational aids all play a role in keeping an airport safe and operational.

The Redwood Falls Municipal Airport runway project helps ensure the airport remains ready to serve the needs of local users, regional partners, and future aviation activity.

Investing in a Community Asset

The City of Redwood Falls continues to take a proactive approach to maintaining public assets. While airport infrastructure may not always be the most visible investment, it plays an important role in supporting local services, economic activity, and regional access.

By moving forward with the Redwood Falls Municipal Airport runway project, the City is helping protect an important asset and prepare it for years of continued use.

The City will continue to share updates on airport improvements and other infrastructure projects as they move forward.
